TVXQ to leave for Shanghai concert Friday October 2, 2009 Korea

Korean pop group TVXQ will leave for China tomorrow to perform at a concert in Shanghai, spending time with their agency SM Entertainment for the first time in a while over the Chuseok holiday weekend.

The five-member boy band had stopped all of its activities as a group since July when three of its members, Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Hero Jaejoong, filed a lawsuit against SM saying that their 13-year contract with SM Entertainment is too long and asked the court for provisional disposition of it.

The lawsuit has not been settled yet but the result may have some effect on the future relationship between idol groups and their agencies in regards to the length of a long-term contract that is approved by the court.

Fans previously published an ad in a daily newspaper in Korea for support of the group, claiming "they are not monkeys" and have "individual rights and the right to make decisions."

The concert will be held at Shanghai's Hongkou Soccer Stadium on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
